I've been really busy and kind of stressed out lately. Working on a project for overseas, which involves creating puppets to be used in a stop-motion film. WAY exciting, but also kind of intimidating and stressful, because everything has to be made completely differently from how I am used to making it. I've had some frustrating times. But you know, I've made some rewarding discoveries too, as far as labor-saving ideas, and different ways to do things that used to be very time-consuming. Sometimes thinking "outside the box" can really open new avenues of innovation...but sometimes it's just really difficult and all I want to do is quit and go have a beer!
I can't show any progress on that, unfortunately it is pretty top-secret, but I've also been working fervently on 6 new little guys for next month's "Soft" plush show at
My Plastic Heart in NYC. Here are some snippets...
| All creatures begin as piles of fabric. |
| This one is made from an antique salt sack..."Grandmother's Table Salt". |
| Patterns all cut out and pinned...that fabric looks far too clean! |
| I use a lot of pins. |

ooooh, so exciting! i've been wanting to surprise my little sister with one of your pieces.
she fell in love with my foxglove after SDCC, so i'm giddy at the thought of her opening a package to find something staring back at her =]
